On Instagram I recently co-founded the hashtag #mystyleessential with my great Insta-buddy Coral (Stripey Coral). The idea is to get everyone sharing outfits of their key wardrobe pieces on the ‘gram’! Within 8 weeks we’ve had almost 3000 shares which is impressive considering there was only 1 post on this hashtag when we first launched it! So we decided to throw a fashion lunch to celebrate and say thanks to our Instagram friends who have supported us. We took the opportunity to give the lunch a purpose and collaborated with the important charity Smart Works which helps women get into the workplace through style, fashion and interview training.
Over 30 Instagram fashion bloggers joined us for a lunch on the Kings Road where we heard about the great work Smart Works are doing. The leading fashion design & trend expert Jo Collins gave an inspiration talk on future fashion trends and where they actually come from. A fun lunch was followed with an amazing raffle with prices including £200 voucher from the fashion brand Baukjen, Madeleine Thompson cashmere and loads of fab pieces from Wallis. We raised almost £500 for Smart Works who also went off with a van load of brilliant clothes for the charity.
