British accessory label Florian London celebrated international recognition this week, scooping two design prizes at the glittering Independent Handbag Designer Awards ceremony, in New York.
The international competition, originally founded to discover and spotlight independent designers, awarded seven winners from over 1,500 entrants and was judged by a panel of esteemed industry figures, including Deborah Lloyd the Creative Director of Kate Spade.
Florian London took home two of the coveted prizes including “Best in Overall Style and Design” and “Audience Fan Favorite” for their striking leather Vienna shoulder bag in electric blue.
Each year awards are independently sponsored by brands such as Timberland, Guess and Instyle Magazine, offering the winners huge opportunities including apprenticeships and collaborations. As winners of “Best in Overall Style and Design” an award measured on a brand’s unique and overall style, Florian London will now be stocked at leading department store Bloomingdale’s and be profiled in Instyle USA, in the influential September 2014 issue. They will also have the opportunity to show their range at leading trade show WWDMAGIC in LA and Las Vegas in 2015, giving the brand a fantastic platform to break into the US and international markets.
As well as this, Florian London also won the “Audience Fan Favorite” award voted for by the public and hosted by Instyle.com, which will gain them additional exposure in the Instyle USA September issue.
